The Athens has a smooth outer and inner surface finish for the travelling arm to efficiently glide on the surface of the base arm which results in smoother movement as the height is varied on the field. The use of aluminum as the choice of material makes the Athens a very strong, light weight and rust proof standard. The extenders have additional points to place the cross bar at a lower height
